Millenium - sounds cool for the start of anything new, but that was not the main intention for Jost and Oliver to form node1. They just put their hands on some machines together in 1999, liked the results and started node1 as a logical conclusion. Many Tracks were done. They arose from a deep love for synthesizers, track programs, technology and electronic music in general. The day came when one track stood out from the crowd and changed the game a bit. 'State Zero' was released as a 12 inch on the Cologne based label 'Boxer Recordings', with a Reinhard Voigt remix on the B1 of the record. The success of 'State Zero' continued shortly after, when it was licensed for 'Schaffelfieber 2' (Kompakt CD 25), a compilation with amazing artists like 'The Orb', 'International Pony', 'Superpitcher', 'Wassermann' or 'Wighnomy Bros. + Robag Wruhme'. A node1 remix for Lauderts 'Bye Bye Sommer' rounded off the Boxer chapter of node1, and Jost and Oliver would like to send greetings to their beloved Boxer label and its heads Peta and Eric. Thanks for really cool times... The story continued, of course... Next, node1 found themselves being more than producers. More or less as a natural development, they were now live artists and DJs, which gave them the opportunity to dive even deeper into the electronic music scene. Playing live at 'Druckluft' and live at 'Elektronische Wiese' were unforgettable experiences, and as DJs, node1s highlights were club gigs at 'Fink Club' and 'Monomusik', or big festivals like 'Ruhr In Love' and 'Nature One'. After focusing back on music production again, a new 4 track release appeared in 2006 called 'Bass Fudge EP' on the London based label 'Kailash', launched by Arnaud Le Texier. Then, Jost and Olivers home city of Essen moved into focus, and several releases on the 'Supercity Essen' series of compilations followed. After a decade of wonderful years, node1 decided to start a completly new mission, knowing that there would be no outer-mission-timespace for at least 10 years. This mission was called 'reproduction'. It was unavoidable to split then. Jost and Oliver successfully fullfilled that mission. One overperformed, one did minimum. ;) And then? The story continued, of course... node1 made a remix of 'Silicon Seas' for Amsterdam based mate 'Grainoid' and his release on 'Diffuse Reality' in the beginning of 2025. Will the story continue? Of course, watch out here...
